My name is Christopher Hood Jr., DPM, FACFAS. I am a practicing fellowship-trained podiatrist, completing fellowship in 2016. In addition to my clinical work in practice, I have always had an interest in both growing/expanding the field of podiatry and providing young physicians (students, residents, new graduates/new practitioners) information pertaining to the non medicine side of a career in podiatry. I have had plenty of questions and spent hours looking for guidance when personally going through the process and through this, I have both acquired and compiled helpful hints, resources, and knowledge that have served me well to this point in my career.  While many websites exist with general information and resources, is it both (a) not all all in one locations for individuals and (b) is extremely narrowed with respect to podiatrist (i.e., information for podiatrists, by podiatrists). I encountered many difficulties trying to figure out the process with the help of long nights searching the internet and using the personal and professional connections made through networking to figure out the best way for me to transition from student to resident to new practitioner.  This includes how to approach both school and residency, how to set yourself up for your first job during residency, hints and tips for the job search, creating and formalizing a cover letter and resume, and ways to prepare for ones first job once the contract is signed.
From these efforts, and in reviewing dozens of cover letters, CVs, and employment agreements from past residents, fellows, and associates, as well as going through the job application process three times over a five year span, I created Podiatry Contract Review to offer my services to a larger audience. I hope you find this websites information helpful and I would be glad to assist you in your job journey through review of any of your important documents.
